Calcium Deficiency Affects Nails
Calcium deficiency symptoms, can affect your finger nails health and your health. Or, you can suffer from too much calcium, either way, you will see a difference in your finger nails. When it comes to your fingernails health, a lack of calcium can contribute to brittle, weak nails. Yet, many of us are not aware that you can actually suffer from too much calcium, and this will also affect your nails. Fingernails can become soft, and tear easily, instead of breaking, if your body has too much calcium, resulting in calcium deposits. Too much calcium in the body can also result in wrinkles, and can be a problem for many women over the age of 40, who have been told they need more calcium. Brittle nails, may be the result of a calcium deficiency, along with eye twitching and muscle cramping. People are often advised to take supplements to help with their nail problems, yet, this advice can be very misleading. Taking a supplement on its own, will do very little for your fingernails health. I can remember a time when I was younger, taking supplements every day, for months, and nothing happened to my nails. They would still break and not grow long.

Don't take an iron supplement with your calcium, this will inhibit calcium absorption. Iron is usually best taken first thing in the morning with vitamin C, at least an hour before breakfast. I usually take an iron liquid with or organic orange juice. Take a supplement, which has vitamin D included. This is very important for helping the body absorb the calcium. Vitamin C and Silica are two other great supplements, which will help the body absorb calcium. If you take it with vitamin D, also include vitamin C and silica. You will have a powerful combination for not only helping to improve your nails health, you will have healthy hair and a lovely clear complexion. This is definitely a formidable measure against weak, fingernails, toenails and hair. If you feel you are not getting enough foods high in calcium, and want to take a supplement. Look for the total elemental calcium content of the tablet. Food to eat, to get your daily recommended amount; spinach, broccoli, peas, all dark green leafy vegetables, sesame seeds, almonds, sardines, salmon, yoghurt, cheese, milk and tofu. For your finger nails health, before you start popping all these supplements to help your nails, you should first determine if you have too much calcium or suffering from a deficiency.
