Color changing nail polish, is fast becoming a popular choice for many young women.

Mood nail polish, is just one of many types of polish you can buy. You can now add it to your collection of sparkling, shimmering, water based, scented nail polish and quick drying.

Mood changing nail polish colors work just like the "mood rings" in fact, I can remember buying my daughter a mood ring not so long ago.

The nail polish reacts to your body heat, and the environment, causing your fingernails to change to various shades of color.

Your body temperature will change depending on how you are feeling.

Did you know, when you are feeling stressed, all those tiny little capillaries move deeper, into your skin and this causes your temperature to drop.

If you are feeling passionate your body temperate may rise. This is because your capillaries, move closer to the surface of the skin and release heat.

For those of you who love to experiment with nail polish, you can make your own mood polish.

• You will need clear nail polish to white.
  
• Color changing dye (colorchange.com)
  
• Small funnel
  

Put about 1/8th of teaspoon of dye and using the funnel, pour into your nail polish.

Mix with nail polish brush.

Add a couple more drops of dye if you want a stronger color.

If you are making your own, you have the option of buying a clear or white nail polish, without all the chemicals, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) and Toluene (methylbenzene, toluol, phenylmethane).

These chemicals are hazardous to your health and if you enjoy wearing nail polish a lot, it is better for your fingernail health to try and avoid chemicals in nail polish.

Using mood changing nail polish is no guarantee that it will work. Remember it is a heat sensitive nail polish, it reacts to your body temperature and every individual is different. Some people have experienced no change what so ever, to the color of there polish.

Teenagers and young women are attracted to this type of nail polish. My daughter and her friends were very excited about the fact their fingernails and toenails could change color.
