Extra Long Fingernails

Protein Diet Benefits Fingernails

Are you always trying to grow extra long fingernails? Many of the problems you have with your nails, can be the result of a protein deficiency.

The best protein diet, may help you achieve the nails you have always hoped for.

When you think about it, your nails are made up of protein, so it makes sense to eat more of it. If your diet is low in protein, it will cause brittle, thin and slow growth rate of fingernails.

Considering nails grow quite slowly as it is, you want to help speed it up, not slow it down.

A protein diet definitely benefits your nails, so you want to eat as much as you can. Although, you want to be careful you don't over do the protein, to the point where you are avoiding carbohydrates altogether.

Your body needs carbohydrates, like brown rice and wholemeal bread.

extra long fingernails High protein foods; milk, eggs, yoghurt, cheese, meat turkey, veal, beef, chicken), free range eggs, egg whites, beans, tofu, nuts and seeds.

I eat fat free organic yoghurt every day, it is not only great for your nails, it is great for hair and skin too.

Since I started eating more of it, my nails are longer than they have ever been. I can't stress enough, about including more yoghurt into your diet. I think it is probably better than all the protein foods put together.

I also add lots of nuts with it, and a dollop of honey. I sometimes eat it for breakfast, a snack, and if I come home late and can't be bothered cooking anything I will have it for dinner.

Since I have noticed an improvement in my nails, I can't get enough of the stuff.

When you think about it, yoghurt is full of zinc, calcium, B vitamins, potassium and vitamin D, everything you need to help increase growth and strength.

You also need to include plenty of fruits and vegetables such as; apples, blackberries, avocados, asparagus, green leafy vegetables, broccoli and onions.

If you are continually going on extreme diets, this will affect the health of your nails and will slow down growth. You may also notice your hair and skin is suffering too.

People who follow macrobiotic diets, and raw food diets, may be lacking in protein.

Of course, you can always opt for acrylics to get those extra long fingernails, but really, protein for fingernails is best.
