A Fingernail Buffer
How to buff your nails for a beautiful shine
A fingernail buffer is a must have, in your ensemble of fingernail products.
There are a few types of nail buffers to choose from, you can use an electric nail buffer, and buffers which come in a variety of shapes and sizes. You may need to try a couple of different nail buffers before you find the one that suits. How to buff nails is very simple, first your nails must always be clean and dry. You can get buffers with a stronger grit, if your fingernails have not been buffed before, or perhaps they have not been buffed for a very long time. Keep in mind the coarser the nail buffer, the more it will take off your nail. Be careful not to over buff, this will cause thin nails, and never use your nail file to buff fingernails. Buffing fingernails gives you natural shiny fingernails, which looks like you have clear polish on them.
If you want to put nail polish on, fingernail buffing will create a smooth surface for your favorite nail lacquer to adhere to.When you use the coarse side of the nail buffer, you are smoothing down any ridges in fingernails, and removing dead skin from the nail plate. Generally you would use the coarse side of the buffer about once a month. A nail buffer comes in different grades, for example a very course buffer would be used for artificial fingernails, or shaping and smoothing the edges of your nails. How to Buff Nails Buff your fingernails in direction only, and stop once your fingernails start to feel warm. For the shine to last longer, use all the different grades on your buffer and take your time. Types of Nail Buffers Some nail buffers look like very thick nail files and have three surfaces; this type of buffer is the most common. The coarsest surface is normally black in color or dark grey, used to remove any ridges or stains from the nail. The less coarse part of the buffer is used next to smooth out the nail, then using the smooth side of the buffer, light grey in color, buff for shiny fingernails. This shape also comes in bigger sizes. You can buy buffers with only two sides, one for buffing down ridges and other irregularities, and the other side for buffing your nails to a nice shine. This type of buffer is good for oil buffing. Massage an oil into your nails, and then buff to a beautiful shine. Buffing is a great way to help your nail growth, it will stimulate blood circulation to the base of your fingernails, and this is also good for healthy fingernails. A four sided buffer comes in the shape of a rectangular block, I find this shape the easiest to hold. The coarsest side to this type of buffer can be used as nail file. This one is handy to keep in your handbag. Electric nail buffers come with detachable buffers, each one offering different surfaces, ranging between coarse and fine. It is quicker to buff your nails using an electric nail buffer. These types of buffers are more expensive, and last much longer than the common manual buffer. The common nail buffer needs to be replaced quite often, don't make the mistake of continuing to buff when it starts to look worn down, it won't do your fingernails any good. The best buffer I have used, is from Dead Sea Spa Care. A good nil buffer only costs around a few dollars. They are not that expensive. When using a nail buffer, keep in mind they don't last very long.
