I can remember a time, when I suffered from a very painful and embarrassing problem with one of my nails, and I went to see a herbalist. I think he did help me a little, in time though a new nail grew, and the problem did resolve. If you are aware of a nail disorder which does not seem to be clearing up, you are best to seek medical advice. You could be suffering from a serious health problem. Your fingernails and health go hand in hand and you need to really look after the whole of you, inside and out. Simple fingernail disorders such as; ridges and white spots are not anything to be too concerned about. Red skin around the cuticle area for example could be Lupus, or an unhealthy metabolism, either way, you do need to address this. Soft shiny nails could be the result of an overactive thyroid. White nails with a pink color at the top could be the result of too much alcohol, and it is affecting your liver. This is an easy problem solved, stop drinking. Yellow color on nails may indicate a liver disease, or problems with your respiratory system. Always get a second opinion if you are unsure about any nail disorders.
