Fingernail Infections
How To Treat Bacterial Infections Common fingernail infections can be from bacteria infections, and is caused around the edges of the fingernail. Many fingernail symptoms can and do happen very easily, it doesn't matter if you have artificial fingernails, short or long fingernails. You are susceptible to suffering from fingernail infections.
Long fingernails and
artificial fingernails
may look great and colorful, with many of you spending a small fortune each week on manicures, or fake ones redone.Although, keep in mind these well cared for nails unfortunately, can cause fingernail symptoms by being home to some very unwanted guests. Having beautiful fingernails on the surface is one thing, but underneath your nails is what you should be worried about. Especially if you are the type of person who takes a keen interest in your health. Your fingernails can make you sick! Washing your hands in hot soapy water frequently will help prevent fingernail symptoms. This is especially important if you are handling raw meat, changing diapers, handling animals, or if you just plain 'ol' have poor hygiene, then you could be in trouble. When washing your hands use a nail brush, this is a must if you want to prevent any fingernail symptoms. It is said, men actually harbour more germs under their fingernails than women. I guess leaving a nail brush or two around the bathroom may entice some curiosity..... Researches have found in some cases, vomiting and diarrhea is caused by bacteria infections lurking under fake and long fingernails. That also goes for people who just don't wash their hands! Artificial fingernails are definitely the winner in the fingernail infection stakes, because a person is not able to feel anything underneath, so it is easy for germs to build up and cause nail infections For all you
fingernail biters
out there, take note, your nails may be cleaner, but you are actually ingesting bacteria while you are chewing. So you may want to think about it next time you go for a bite! I have suffered from a bacteria infection and it was awful, my middle finger swelled up to twice its size, and my finger was very, very red around the base of the nail. I have heard there are some hospitals not allowing patient carers to have long fingernails, especially artificial fingernails, and nails are to be cut short. Handling food with artificial fingernails or long fingernails which are painted isn't a good look either, for yourself and those you may be cooking for..... Nail infections can happen even if you scrub with a nail brush. Although, having good fingernail care should keep you safe. Avoiding fingernail symptoms can be done when washing regularly before and after eating, using toilet, putting on makeup, preparing food, wiping a nose, rubbing eyes, providing care to another, even removing food from your teeth. Bacteria infections can and do happen quite suddenly. Fingernail infections don't need to happen when you take notice of where your hands are going, and where they have been!
