These days a manicure is not only a way to beautify your nails, you can have a French manicure with pictures and designs, and create some great French manicure designs.

Having a manicure is a great pick me up, and can help make you feel even more beautiful.

Put on a coat of your favourie nail polish colors or clear varnish and you will have beautiful fingernails. Many women are now opting for gel nail polish.

Everywhere you look, there are pictures of women with perfectly manicured nails. You can't open up a magazine or turn on the TV, without seeing a set of beautiful manicured nails.

Many prefer to have a Permanent French Manicure, but whatever your preference, a beautiful manicure is the perfect finish to your appearance, and the perfect compliment to whatever you are wearing.

You have a few different types of manicures to choose from, the initial steps carried out for each manicure is the same.

The difference is in the shaping of the fingernails and the different types of oils and creams used.

Types of Manicures

  • French Manicure is the most popular. Nail polish is applied to the nails and the tip of the nail is painted white.

  • Hot Stone Manicure: A hand massage is given using a hot stone therapy.

  • Paraffin Manicure - your hands are dipped in wax, or wax is rubbed into your fingernails.

  • Reverse French Manicure - sometimes referred to the half moon manicure, usually a white tip at the base of the nail (the half moon).

  • Spa Manicure - usually have a few more extra steps than the normal manicure, your hands and arms are massaged with exfoliating crystals, a finishing lotion is applied and then a manicure is performed.

  • Luxury Manicure - is designed to condition and moisturise your hands which includes using a wax or oil, this type of manicure will rehydrate the fingernails and soften the hands.

  • Shellac Manicure - a newcomer to the group, this manicure takes about 1 hour, and after each step of base coat, two color coats, and top coat, your fingers are placed under a special UV lamp to cure the formula.

You can also give yourself a hot oil manicure.
