Glass Nail Files
Using glass fingernail files are better for your nails
Glass nail files (crystal nail files) are becoming increasingly popular.
Glass fingernail files, are great for women who love taking care of their fingernails. Once you have used one, there is no turning back! A nail file, is an important tool to use when it comes to caring for your nails. Although the different types, shapes and sizes can be a little overwhelming, be assured, no matter which one you buy, if it is glass, it will do a magnificent job. Emery boards are quite flexible compared to using a metal nail file or glass, the only problem being they wear out quite quickly and don't last long. Emery boards are usually the cheapest to buy and can come in packs of more than one, and are easily disposed of after using. Metal nail files can be quite hard on your nails, causing your fingernails to chip or crack; I usually use this type of nail file on my toenails. They can be good for gently filing down the rough edges, but I stress you really need to be gentle on your fingernails, and always finish off with an emery board or glass nail file. When using a nail file, use the rough surface for heavy filing and the smooth surface for minor filing of your fingernails. Metal nail files can also cause peeling and split fingernails.

Emery boards may also cause nail problems such as splitting. The beauty of using a crystal glass nail file, is they are perfect for filing natural nails and any type of fake nails. When using crystal on a regular basis, it will actually help reduce the amount of splitting and peeling fingernails. They are also designed so you can file your nails with a lighter touch. Glass is much more hygienic, you can easily wash the nail file after each use. Once the crystal nail file is washed and dry, it maintains its original appearance. Glass fingernail files are really easy to clean compared to emery boards and metal nail files. In fact, if you try to clean a metal or emery board, it causes them to loose there rough quality, and you could never use one of these types of files wet. All you have to do with a glass crystal nail file, is rinse it under running water after each use. For a dirtier glass file you can clean with a brush and detergent. You can even boil it, or put it in your dishwasher to be cleaned. Whichever way you choose to clean your glass file, it will never wear down like an ordinary nail file. The beauty of using glass, compared to the other types of nail files is you will never have to buy another nail file again, saving you money! Unless you drop one on a hard surface, then it will shatter into pieces, just like dropping a wine glass. Filing your fingernails with glass files, is a much cleaner and healthier way for your fingernail care routine. If you have a fingernail fungus in one of your nails for example, when using an emery board or metal nail file you have a greater chance of this fingernail disease spreading to other nails. Whereas using a crystal glass nail file on an infected fingernail, you can easily clean it between filing. The only problem I have discovered with using a glass fingernail files is they are extremely fragile, and you need to be very careful with them. Always put them away in the case you bought them in. Glass files need to be stored properly, to prevent cracking.
