How To Apply Nail Polish
Nail polish application for longer lasting wear
How to apply nail polish is very easy, and can be done in a few minutes of your time.
If you are deciding to put on polish for the first time, then follow these easy steps, for a beautiful finish. With practice you will be able to apply nail polish perfectly, without getting polish all over your cuticles. Preparing Nails For Polish Before you begin to paint your nails, wash your hands and scrub fingernails with a nail brush to remove any dirt. To help your nail polish colors stay on longer, dip your fingernails in vinegar, apple cider vinegar or white, it doesn't matter which one. The vinegar strips your nails of their natural oils, allowing your polish to adhere to the surface of the fingernail better, and in this way, will stay on longer. If you have damaged cuticles or cuticles that just need a little attention, do this first before you begin applying nail polish.

To gain the most out of your painted fingernails, use a base coat first. This way, your nail polish will not only last longer, if you are using a dark color, the base coat will help prevent your nails from staining. You are also providing a smooth and even base for your nail polish. How To Apply Nail Polish Lay your hand flat, wipe the brush of the nail polish against the bottle, making sure there is not too much polish on the brush. Starting in the middle, gently stroke the brush from the cuticle to the end of the fingernail. Next, again starting from the cuticle, brush on polish in one stroke on each side of the fingernail. It will take you 3 strokes to paint a fingernail. You don't have to worry about the first coat being completely dry, you can apply the second coat while it is still wet. The first coat will become wet again when you put on the second coat. Putting on two thinner coats will actually dry quicker, rather than putting on one thick coat, and remember the thicker the nail polish the more susceptible you are to air bubbles. If your polish looks uneven, don't worry this will settle. Once you have applied the final coat, wait until it is completely dry before you attempt to do anything. You can use a nail polish remover, to help remove polish from cuticles. Wrap a small amount of cotton wool on the end of your cuticle stick, nice and tight, saturate with nail polish remover and gently wipe away. Doing it this way, is far more effective then just using cotton wool, as it gives you greater control, and you are less likely to accidentally wipe some polish of your nail. How To Store Nail Polish If you love wearing nail polish and find your collection is growing. You can store your polish in a nail polish holder or nail polish display. There are many different shapes and sizes of nail polish displays to choose from, and you are bound to find one which suits. Ebay and Amazon have some great nail polish holders. It makes sense to use one if you have a lot of nail polishes, this way you can keep them color coordinated. Beautiful painted nails, can be a perfect compliment to any outfit.
