Grow Long Finger Nails

For many women, trying to grow long finger nails can be a real challenge.

It may seem, no matter what you do to grow your nails long, one of them will break, then one will peel, another looks as though it is starting to split on the side, and you are back to where you started.

Your health, is very important when it comes to growing long finger nails. I for one have always wanted longer nails, yet I always seemed to be struggling.

I once met a woman who had beautiful long nails, she told me they only started growing once she started taking these supplements, especially designed for nails.

I was so excited, I rushed out and bought the product the next day, it was quite expensive, yet I continued to persevere and took them for a few months, but alas nothing happened..... My nails were still the same.

Well, the lesson learned here is, don't be fooled by these products designed to help growth.

long finger nails Wanting long finger nails, can be achieved when you follow some easy steps, and are determined and dedicated.

Follow these steps every 3 to 5 days for the first couple of months, or until you notice your finger nails growing.

Tips to Grow Long Nails

  • File your finger nails so they are all the same length, give them a light buff.

  • Apply cuticle remover, and then very gently push back the cuticles with a cuticle stick, never cut your cuticles.

Make sure there is no loose or dead skin around the nail plate. The nail plate is the protective shield, which protects the delicate tissues of the Nail Bed.

  • Soak your finger nails in white vinegar for 5 min, making sure you cover the entire nail bed; vinegar will help soften your cuticles.

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

  • Apply cuticle oil, allow it to absorb into the nail. A cuticle oil will help prevent nails cracking and splitting, and make sure you don't apply too much oil.

  • Wash your hands again in soapy water.

  • Apply 2 coats of nail strengthener; try not to use a nail hardener as prolonged use can actually cause dry, brittle and split finger nails.

There are many strengtheners on the market these days, which are natural, and don't contain nasty chemicals.

  • When your nails are dry, wash again in soapy water, dry thoroughly and apply a hand and nail cream. Try to stick to using all natural hand and nail creams which contain no chemicals, as these chemicals are being absorbed through your skin and into your body.

After doing the steps outlined above, instead of a treatment, you could just rub an oil into your fingernails and cuticles daily, to help give you long nails.
