Recipes To Give You Hard Nails
Natural nail care is a much healthier option, when it comes to looking after your fingernail health.
With the right nail care you can achieve long, strong, hard nails. Look for nail products that are free of parabens. Parabens are also found in shampoo's, conditioner, toothpaste, shower gels, cosmetics and perfume. They are used to help prevent bacteria, and extend the shelf life of the products. They are preservatives, and are often used because they are effective and cheap. The problem is, if you are using products on your nails which contain them, these chemicals can leach through your nails into your blood. The same goes with using chemical products on your skin and hair. There are so many wonderful recipes you can do, to help give you hard nails. The beauty of these recipes is, they are all natural, and you don't have any chemicals to worry about. Also, using a homemade nail care recipe, you are guaranteed a positive result.
There are so many ways you can nurture your nails. Natural Nail Care Recipe - Mix 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp vitamin E oil, if you have any vitamin E capsules just prick one of these.
- Massage into your cuticles and fingernails.
To help nail growth, soak your nails in fresh orange juice for 10 to 15 minutes. If you have suffered from a nail infection such as fingernail fungus, you will know that it can quite easily comes back again. Here is a recipe to help prevent it from returning. - Mix 1 tsp wheat germ oil
- 4 tsp borage or carrot (base) oil
- 5 to 6 drops of essential oils:
- Lavender
- rosemary
- carrot seed oil
- Massage into nails and cuticles once a week.
Oat straw tea will give your body a natural supply of silica. Silica depletes from the body as you age, so it is a good idea to get as much as you can from other sources. - Infuse two teaspoons of dried oat straw for every one cup of water.
- Drink 1 to 4 cups a day; there is no time limit for this.
Oatstraw tea is great for nail care, it is rich in silica. Try and drink a few cups a day to reap the rewards. Otherwise, get a hold of some oatstraw supplements, or you can take it in a tincture, powder and extract. Another great tea for promoting hard nails is nettle tea. Nettle Tea - Put nettles in a pot and just cover with water.
- Boil until water looks slightly green.
- Remove nettles with a strainer.
Leave nettles in if you want a stronger taste.
Taking a supplement of black currant seed oil, is great for your nail care. Nail care does not have to be a chore, it can be a real joy, once you start to see an improvement, and with the array of natural ways to do this, your hair and skin will also benefit. By going natural, you will have a chemical free body.
