How To Have Painted Toe Nails

Painted toenails look absolutely lovely, especially during the summer months when painted toe nails can be on show.

Showing off your toenails can be a real boost to your confidence and appearance, and the warmer weather is the best time to bring your toe nails out of hiding.

Many women who have trouble growing their fingernails, will often have lovely painted toe nails.

Pink and red nail polish is a popular choice and very classic colors, which never date.

Painting Toenails

You will need a base coat and your best nail polish, top coat, toenail separator or cotton balls.

• Cut nails straight across, this will also help prevent ingrown toenails.
  
• File for a smooth straight look, I usually use a metal nail file.
  
• Wipe toenails with polish remover to remove any oils and help the polish adhere better and stay on longer.
  
• Insert your toes into the separator or place cotton balls in between toes, to help keep them spread for easy application and prevent smearing.
  
• Start at the big toe and moving towards your small toe, apply one coat of base coat to each toenail.
  
• Instead of shaking the nail polish bottle, try rolling it in between your hands to help prevent any air bubbles.
  

• Apply one stroke down one side of your toenail followed by a stroke down the other side, and then the last stroke in the middle.
  
• You do not need to keep dipping the brush into the nail polish, this can all be done with dipping brush once for toe.
  
• Once dry you can apply a top coat.
  
• Using a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover, wipe away excess nail polish from around your toes.
  

If you are really in a hurry, as most of us are, you can just put on your open toed sandels, and paint your toenails while you have your shoes on, and you are ready to go.

If you are suffering from fungus, don't put polish on your toenails, the same applies to your fingernails if you have fingernail fungus.

Good looking toenails are not hard to achieve, if you have not looked at your toe nails in awhile, it takes only a few min to have them looking good.
