Split Nails
Do you suffer from the occasional split nails?
The cause of split nails is wide and varied, many times, it can be a ridge in your nail causing the problem, lacking certain nutrients, lack of moisture or aging. Here is a popular method for repairing a split. Nail Wrap or The Juliette A process developed by Juliette Marglen, and often referred to as the Juliette Method, is used in some salons, and can also be done at home. This process is not only good for helping with a split, it is very good if all your nails are quite fragile, and in need of some strength. Using a kit, which contains nail mending liquid and fibrous papers, you have the perfect method for fixing a nail splitting. Unfortunately, this kit is not often available in salons, as not as many are using it now a days. I even had a hard time trying to find one online. If you have used one in the past, and know how good it is, I hope you have better luck. There is an alternative, I found using the papers you would use for a perm, to be just as good. Use with clear nail lacquer or nail glue. - To begin, make sure your nails are clean and dry. To help remove oil from your nails, give them a wipe with a cotton bud soaked in nail polish remover. - Cut the paper to fit over your nail, extending a little over your nail tip. - Apply 1 coat of the nail mending liquid, to a clean dry nail. - Using the brush provided, saturate the paper in the liquid solution, place over you nail and tuck the ends under your nail tip and smooth down using an orange stick (wooden cuticle stick). - If you only have a small split, you don’t need to tuck too much paper under the nail tip. Allow drying and then applying another coat of the nail mender liquid. When dry put on another coat of the mender liquid, when dry smooth down with your finger. - If your split is quite extreme, you can place another piece of fibrous paper over the first piece, only this time put the paper in the opposite direction (horizontally). - If you can, allowing your nail to dry overnight is usually best, before you apply your favorite nail polish. You can also purchase nail wrap liquids, which are available online or nail care sections. This is an extremely effective split nails remedy.
