Toenail Problems
Get Back Your Pretty Toenails

Toenail problems can be very embarrassing, especially during the summer months when your feet are on show!

Having nail problems such as toenail fungus, thick toenails and ingrown toenails are many of the problems one can experience.

Pretty toenails don't have to be a thing of the past, or rather pretty toenails can be a thing of the future!

Your feet are quite often the first place you will notice something is wrong with you and this usually has something to do with the way blood is circulating within your body. Poor circulation especially with older people can cause many deformed and discolored toenails.

And many people will suffer from a toenail disease, at some point in their lives.

deformed toenails

Many nail changes can happen just because you are aging and most changes are nothing to be concerned about. Unless you are continually battling with split nails.

If you are in the habit of wearing high heeled shoes, you put yourself at risk for developing deformed toenails. Shoes which are too tight and press against your toenails will definitely cause problems such as blue toenails.

People who enjoy running or other forms of sport, often experience toenails falling off.

You also need to be careful when you experience nail problems, that bacteria does not get in and cause an infection. If your toe does become infected, it can give off a foul smell.

If you are not experiencing any pain or swelling, be careful as any toenail which curves downward into the skin is an infection waiting to happen!

A yellow toenail, can be the sign of toenail fungus, or wearing nail polish too often.

Toenail fungus is a very common problem and one which can be extremely hard to get rid of. Many people will resort to natural remedies for helping with this particular nail problem.

Ingrown toenails are also a very common nail problem and one which many podiatrists treat. An ingrown toenail cure is easy, painless and very important to help prevent future toenail problems.

Many other nail problems can be an indication of something wrong with your health.

A deficiency in iron or anaemia can cause thick toenails.

Poor circulation or low thyroid may cuase brittle toenails.

If you are lacking in a healthy diet and your body is not getting all the nutrients and vitamins it needs, then problems will show up in your toenails.

Toenails can split easily and be very weak, grow upwards (spooning), flat toenails, beau's lines (horizontal ridges), vertical ridges can indicate arthritis, or aging.

Deformed toenails can also be caused by dropping something heavy onto your foot, and the toenail may grow back deformed. In some cases it does not grow back at all.

If you have damaged the toenails root, the nail may never look the same again.

People who run or jog a lot may experience a black toenail.

Many dark skinned people and Asians develop a melanoma under toenail.

If you have pitted, bumpy toenails or an increase in thickness, this can be a sign of psoriasis which is actually a skin disease, yet many people can have it on their toenails or fingernails and no where else on the body.

Sometimes by taking a digestive enzyme, you can help the body pick of the nutrients it needs to help you overcome many common toenail problems.
